Shyla Wright is an ACTRA full member based in Bedford, Nova Scotia, working across film, television, and commercial productions in the Atlantic Canadian industry. She has appeared in principal roles on CBC series including Diggstown and Moonshine, and is a recurring sketch performer on This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Additional screen credits include the Disney+ series Washington Black and the short film Paper, directed by Charles Wahl.
Alongside her acting career, Shyla has worked on numerous commercial and tourism campaigns for organizations including Tourism Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Teachers Union, Tru by Hilton, Sutton Place Hotel, and Atlantic Lottery.
Expanding her work behind the camera, Shyla is the writer of the short film The Knock and is actively developing her career as a filmmaker and director. She recently became apart of the DGC Maritimes Permittee Program and continues to pursue on-set experience while building connections within the Nova Scotia film community.
