About

Nikki has been writing screenplays, novels and short stories since she was a teen and brings many years of writing experience, both successes and failures, to the work she is crafting today. Her short film A Walk In The Sun premiered at the Atlantic International Film Festival in 2022 and her script for the feature length version of that film The Space Between won her the RBC Script Development prize at the festival that same year. Her first fictional novel A Momentary Darkness, was released in 2018 and its follow-up, the second in the series, The Beginning’s End in June 2021.

As a queer biracial woman of colour Nikki has found her voice sharing stories about people like herself; who are in search of identity and their place in the world. Her strength is in conveying the beautiful complexity of relationships through deep feeling character driven narratives, honest stories, and rich, relatable characters that translate to both the page and the screen. Through her stories she longs to contribute to more representation showing up in films and in literature.
