About

Kevin Hartford’s interest in filmmaking began when he was a small child and saw Tim Burton’s Batman for the first time. He spent subsequent decades voraciously absorbing every bit of film and television that he could until he moved to Halifax and someone clued him into the existence of AFCOOP. He graduated from AFCOOP’s FILM 5 program in 2016 and 2017 and honestly maybe should’ve taken a year off in between but, whatever, he’ll sleep when he’s dead. Since then, he’s made numerous short films, a couple of which aired on CBC and a couple of which were nominated for Best Short at the Screen NS Awards, no big deal. In 2021, he thought it would be a good idea to self-finance a feature film entitled Lemon Squeezy but thankfully the Canada Council for the Arts took pity on him halfway through production. That same year, he was awarded funding for his feature To the Moon through Telefilm’s Production Program and current plans are for the film to go to camera in the first half of 2023. In the meantime, he will spend his nights wondering if anyone reads these bios.
