Screen Nova Scotia is now accepting information from mid-to-senior level Nova Scotian documentary and non-fiction producers to join a Pan-Atlantic producer delegation to Copenhagen, Denmark, from March 15 to 19, 2026 during the CPH:DOX Industry Festival.
The Atlantic producers selected will attend CPH:DOX, one of the largest documentary festivals in the world. The CPH:INDUSTRY platform comprises an umbrella of B2B activities for film professionals, offering a promising place to talk partners and co-production for future projects. Screen Nova Scotia has signed as a partner at CPH:DOX, which includes:
- Access to two reserved meetings tables for Atlantic producer meetings.
- Guaranteed tickets to the sold out Forum Dinner for all participants.
- Participation in industry events and receptions (events TBC)
Screen Nova Scotia is the lead for this delegation, and a staff member will also be on the ground during the mission to help with logistical planning.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PRODUCERS
Flights, Accommodations, and Travel Assistance: Producers will be responsible for booking their own travel and accommodations for this trip. The delegation should be on the ground for meetings in Copenhagen by the morning of March 15, 2026 (subject to chnage). Nova Scotia producers can apply for travel assistance (flights, accommodation, and ground transport) via the Creative Industries Fund from the Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage. Cost: Delegation producers will obtain CPH:Industry Accreditation, at the cost of approximately $800 CAD.
APPLICATION INFO & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Application Process: To be considered for the CPH:DOX delegation, producers must submit interest and materials by 3 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025. Please forward your complete application to Danya Knowles, Industry Services Coordinator (danya@screennovascotia.com) with the email title “CPH:DOX Producer Delegation”. There is no fee to apply.
Mandatory Support Documents: The following documents must be submitted electronically as individual .PDF files in order for your application to be considered.
- Personal resume including relevant film, television & new media production credits;
- Company and personal biography;
- A synopsis of your project, including a summary of the project’s status to date;
- Project treatment and/or series bible;
- Statement of all relevant attachments including co-producers, writers, directors, broadcasters (one-page maximum).
Non-Mandatory Additional Package Elements (if available): Applicants are invited to include any of the following additional package elements.
- Completed screenplay
- Bios of any currently attached principal cast and/or key creative positions
- Marketing and distribution plan and any existing marketing materials
- Budget top sheets or proposed budget and finance scenarios
- Statement of all additional attachments including pre-sales, development funding, or confirmed cast etc. (one-page maximum)
Producer Criteria: Mid-to-Senior Level Producers
- This is a delegation for mid-to-senior-level producers who work in the documentary and non-fiction screen industry.
- Must have a minimum of two full producer credits on completed productions within the last five (5) years of the following nature:
- Television one-off production with a minimum broadcast length of 30 minutes.
- Television series production.
- Feature film that a) received financing from Telefilm Canada or NSBI or b) had a budget of $1 million or greater.
- Digital media production that a) received funding from the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada Media Fund, Bell Fund, Independent Production Fund, or NSBI or b) had significant marketplace exposure and/or reputable market partner.
- Must have at least one unscripted/non-fiction project in development.
- Must have participated in at least one international market or festival event (can include provincially led business development trips/trade missions).
- Must be a Screen Nova Scotia Producer Member in good standing (for information on membership, click HERE).
