Screen Nova Scotia is now accepting information from mid-to-senior level Nova Scotian animation producers/companies to join a Pan-Atlantic producer delegation to Annecy, France, during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market (Mifa), scheduled from June 10-13, 2025.

Screen Nova Scotia will partner with Telefilm Canada and the Canada Pavilion to ensure a designated meeting space for NS delegates for the duration of the Mifa program. A delegate from Screen Nova Scotia will also be on the ground to help with logistical planning.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PRODUCERS
Flights, Accommodations, and Travel Assistance: Producers will be responsible for booking their own travel and accommodations for this trip. Nova Scotia animation producers can apply for travel assistance (flights, accommodation, and ground transport) via the Export Development Program (EDP) with Invest Nova Scotia. Each company is allotted up to $15,000 per fiscal year to fund 50% of travel costs for travel to markets. The key with this is to apply for the funding before you leave for Annecy, or you do not qualify. In the guidelines (HERE) you will see the turnaround on gaining approval from Invest Nova Scotia can be between 7-14 days.

Cost: Telefilm Canada offers a reduced rate of 462.00€ with tax, a discount of 98€, on the purchase of a PRO badge. This also includes:
- Meeting tables at the Canada Pavillion;
- Promotion of your company via Telefilm Canada’s promotional tools;
- Invitation to B2B meetings organized by Telefilm Canada onsite.
APPLICATION INFO & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Application Process: To be considered for the Annecy delegation, producers/studios/companies must submit interest and materials by 3 p.m. on April 23, 2025. Please forward your complete application to Danya Knowles, Industry Services Coordinator (danya@screennovascotia.com) with the email title “Annecy 2025 Application”. There is no fee to apply.
Mandatory Support Documents: The following documents must be submitted electronically as individual .PDF files in order for your application to be considered by the jury.
- Personal resume including relevant film, television & new media production credits;
- Company and personal biography;
- A synopsis of your animation project, including a summary of the project’s status to date;
- Project treatment and/or series bible;
- Statement of all relevant attachments including co-producers, writers, directors, broadcasters (one-page maximum).
Non-Mandatory Additional Package Elements (if available): Applicants are invited to include any of the following additional package elements.
- Completed screenplay
- Bios of any currently attached principal cast and/or key creative positions
- Marketing and distribution plan and any existing marketing materials
- Budget top sheets or proposed budget and finance scenarios
- Statement of all additional attachments including pre-sales, development funding, or confirmed cast etc. (one-page maximum)
Producer Criteria: Mid-to-Senior Level Producers
- This is a delegation for mid-to-senior-level producers who work in the animation industry.
- Must have at least one animation project in development, and have viable projects for international markets.
- Must have participated in at least one international market or festival event (can include provincially led business development trips/trade missions).
- Must be a Screen Nova Scotia Producer Member in good standing (for information on membership, click HERE)
