Tara McClair

Tara McClair is the Director of Communications & Events at Screen Nova Scotia, the provincial film commission and industry association dedicated to building a strong and sustainable future for Nova Scotia’s production sector. Screen Nova Scotia is the first point of contact to find out more about filming locations, production partners, industry resources and programs, infrastructure, and financial incentives.

Tara joined SNS in 2015, where she played a key role in the successful industry-wide campaign against provincial budget cuts. In addition to managing all aspects of the organization’s communication and marketing strategies, Tara also produces the annual Screen Nova Scotia Awards Gala, the Nova Scotia Content Market, and a wide range of special events/projects.

Tara has participated in the Telefilm Canada / Canadian Media Producers Association’s Marketing Mentorship Program and previously worked as a Unit Publicist on several feature films. From 2011-2015, Tara worked for the Atlantic International Film Festival’s Strategic Partners, an international co-production/co-financing market for film and television producers.

Tara is a member of Women in Film & Television-Atlantic (WIFT-AT) and holds a Bachelor of Journalism (Honours) from the University of King’s College (’07).

Tara lives in Dartmouth (Punamu’kwati’jk) with her husband, toddler, and rescue pup.
