Harry’s Island is a German-language film set in Nova Scotia. It is being produced by Sven Woldt and Oliver Luer of Munich, Germany’s Ariane Krampe Filmproduktion GmbH and Halifax’s Vertical Productions Inc.

Harry’s Island centres on seventy-five-year-old Harry, recently released from a prison term in Germany, who travels to Nova Scotia where he and his wife owned a small island. On arrival, he finds that the Island is now occupied by an eccentric woman who is fleeing from a nursing home confinement.  Both seek solitude and space and find a way to survive a series of adventures that help them both forge a new friendship.

Ann Bernier and Chris Zimmer, partners in the production company Vertical Productions Inc., join NSBI to share more about this international project. Click below to read the full interview.
