Screen Nova Scotia is now accepting applications from mid-to-senior level Nova Scotia documentary/factual producers to join a Pan-Atlantic business delegation to New Orleans, USA from January 27-30 that takes place during Realscreen Summit 2020.

Delegation: Five Nova Scotia producers, along with a representative from Screen Nova Scotia and producers from Newfoundland & Labrador, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, will be selected to attend Realscreen Summit, the definitive global market and conference for the business of unscripted and non-fiction entertainment. Launched in 1999, the 22nd edition returns to the vibrant and culture-rich city of New Orleans, and will bring together creators, buyers and distributors of unscripted and non-fiction programming for four days of panels, pitching and networking. For more information on Realscreen, click HERE.

Registration: Screen Nova Scotia will cover 75% of the reduced Realscreen registration fee of $1,299 USD. The remaining $324.75 USD (approximately $430 CAD) must be paid to Screen Nova Scotia for participation in this delegation. Producers who have already registered for the Realscreen market are encouraged to apply and, if selected, will be reimbursed 75% of their registration fee ($974.25 USD).

Travel Assistance: Nova Scotia producers can apply for travel assistance (flights, accommodation and ground transport) via NSBI’s Export Growth Program. Flights & Accommodations: Filmmakers will be responsible for booking their own travel and accommodations for this trip. The delegation must be on the ground, for meetings in New Orleans by the morning of January 27th, 2020. SNS will provide a discount code for Air Canada (details to follow).

Application Process: To be considered for the Realscreen Summit mission, producers must submit all support materials by end of day on Monday, November 25. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Participants will be selected based on specific criteria, and through a competitive application process. Members of an independent selection committee (comprised of experienced and respected members of the national screen industry) will review applications and select the participants. SNS will notify all applicants of the status of their application by email following the jury meeting, in late-November.
