When Pamela Callow’s brother dared her at the age of eight to write a novel, she never guessed she would be responsible for keeping 1.2 million thriller readers up all night. A lawyer, bestselling author, optioned screenwriter and emerging director, Pamela specializes in writing complex characters in authentic, researched series worlds.
Pamela Callow’s critically-acclaimed thriller series has been compared to works by Robin Cook, Michael Crichton, James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell and John Grisham. Her debut novel DAMAGED was a Levy Home Entertainment “Need to Read Pick”, with Top Ten Bestseller placement everywhere books were sold across North America and debuted at #17 on the Bookscan bestseller list. The series has been translated in six countries, and has consistently topped ebook charts around the globe.
The DAMAGED TV treatment and pilot (written by Pamela Callow) have been optioned by L.A. based Executive Producers Kelly McKendry and Dara Weintraub (EP – MADE FOR LOVE / HBO, Co-EP TRANSPARENT / Amazon). Pamela is currently developing several other projects for television and film. She has worked as a script consultant for award-winning Belgian film company Climax Films, and as a story consultant for the book-to-TV adaptation of work by an iconic sci-fi author for Emmy-award winning Don Carmody Productions. She recently completed MediaXchange’s three-module intensive course WRITING A HIT TV SHOW, taught by former head of BBC Drama’s John Yorke.
An emerging Writer-Director, Pamela’s short film project DO NOT DISTURB was selected for the Project Development phase by Film 5, the elite creative development training program for emerging Nova Scotia filmmakers.
A member of the Nova Scotia bar, Pamela also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration. Prior to making writing a career, she worked as a Strategic Services manager and held the role of Canadian executive for the Global Justice Team with international consulting firm Accenture.
