Britt Kerr is a Halifax-based film producer, production accountant, and consultant. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Dalhousie University and thrives in the areas where art and commerce connect.
Beginning her career in public accounting and commercial banking, Britt transitioned into the film industry as a production accountant in 2015. She also worked for two years as the Director of Development for Holdfast Pictures (Weirdos, 2016; Blackbird, 2012) before incorporating her own production company in 2019, Brass Door Productions Inc. She has since gone on to produce three feature films, including Ashley McKenzie’s sophomore feature film, Queens of the Qing Dynasty (2022), which had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, as well as Winston DeGiobbi’s upcoming feature, Two Cuckolds Go Swimming.
With a passion for advocacy and creating a more equitable, safe, and healthy screen industry, Britt served for two years as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Women in Film and Television – Atlantic and is a founding board member of the Women in Film and Television Canada Coalition.
