Britney Canzi (she/they) is an emerging Latinx producer, writer, and actor based in Halifax, NS. Producer. Their work often explores identity and deals with themes of community and culture. While their projects often tackle heavy subject matter, they still find a balance of light and hope in stories. She is also passionate about the horror genre and continues to create elevated horror with Latinx influence.
She is the founder of Crypretty Media Inc. (crypretty.com) championing underrepresented and emerging voices in both scripted and unscripted content. film, television, and digital creative production boutique based in Halifax, NS.
In 2021, she was a part of 1 of 4 teams across Canada selected as a winner of Vice Media Group and Telus Fund inaugural Take Care initiative, which funds documentary series focused on mental health and wellness in young Canadians. The docuseries funded by the initiative and province of Nova Scotia- Living in Flow, she wrote and produced, won the 2023- Nova Scotia Screen Awards for Best TV Series Unscripted. She was a finalist in the RBC FIN 2022 Script development program, where she wrote and pitched their first feature-length coming-of-age dramedy screenplay, “Finding My Light,” under the guidance of Bretten Hannam (Wildhood).
