Brandon James Lorimer
Trained as an actor, Brandon started developing independent theatre shortly after his education, becoming a founding member of the Bus Stop Theatre Playwright’s Unit. After moving to Montréal he became a key member of the hybrid film/theatre experience “All We Have Is Now” led by filmmaker and Governor General Award winner Jason Rodi, which fostered a pivot towards filmmaking for him.
He produced his first short, “Pareidolia” — an examination of loss, obsession, and the supernatural — in Montréal and soon after returned to Halifax where he was selected as part of the 2021/22 Film 5 cohort with AFCOOP. Serving as a writer with director Michael Wohlfahrt and producer Annah-Lauren Bloom, his occult noir script “Anomalist” was created and selected for the 2022 FIN Festival.
