Screen Nova Scotia is excited to announce that Melanie Solomon will be joining the team on August 16th as our Industry Services & Locations Manager!
Melanie came on board with Screen Nova Scotia in November 2016 as our contract Locations Officer, where she has created customized locations packages to match scripts, as well as helped coordinate incoming location scouts. Melanie started her film career in 2011 with Strategic Partners, one of the world’s most established co‐production/co-financing markets, before joining Film & Creative Industries as their Locations Officer in 2013. She has experience as a Locations Manager on feature films (Weirdos, Exit Thread), music videos, and short films. Melanie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.
In her new role, Melanie will continue to provide locations expertise and support to local, national and international producers, as well as expand upon our online locations database. She will also execute our Annual Industry Export Plan, which includes coordinating Screen Nova Scotia’s presence at industry events, as well as providing support to Nova Scotia producers travelling to outbound markets and festivals. We’re thrilled that Melanie will be adding her experience, energy and creativity to our team!
